The Old Firehouse Block Party is taking place next month in McLean, celebrating the 26th anniversary of the McLean Old Firehouse Teen Center.
The event is set to feature live music, amusement rides and games, food concessions, and street performers. Guests can also get airbrushed tattoos and tour a living history exhibit. There will be free popcorn, cotton candy, and snowcones while supplies last.
Organizers will be accepting donations of bicycles for Wheels for Africa. Various community organizations such as the McLean Project for the Arts (MPA) will be providing information about their programs and services.
Leading up to this event, the McLean Project for the Arts is creating a mural that will be displayed at the block party and, later on in the year, at the MPA Art Festival. The theme of the mural is “find your place in McLean” and the public is welcome to add a drawing of their favorite place in McLean.
It is likely that organizations such as the McLean Project for the Arts will be handing out printed information to the public. These items may be obtained from a local Stationery printing company.
