McLean residents can enjoy performances by the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) just a few miles away at the new Tysons-based Capital One Hall.
In addition to individual artists, groups, and Broadway productions, Capital One Hall will also host a four-concert series performed by the Symphony starting in November.
The new venue in Tysons at 7750 Capital One Tower Road opened on October 1 and will be more than just a performance location. It will also be a setting for Capital One’s corporate events and space rentable for private events. The Hall is on the Capital One campus, as are a Wegmans store, the Watermark Hotel, and the Perch beer garden and park. The first in the NSO performances will take place on November 5th and will be a Bach and Haydn program. It will be followed on February 4th, 2022 by “Fantasia on Theme by Thomas Tallis” and Symphony No.5 conducted by Gemma New.
On June 10th, the orchestra will be joined by Grammy Award-winning Emanuel Ax on the piano for Beethoven’s “Piano Concerto No. 4,” as well as a “Second Serenade” by Brahms. The last concert on June 24th will feature “A Celebration of John Williams.”
Shows range from $29 to $99 and begin at 8:00 pm. Those over 12 must provide proof of vaccination or testing negative for COVID-19. Guests will need to wear masks whether they are vaccinated or not.
