The McLean, Virginia chapter of the American Red Cross has announced that they will be hosting a blood drive as part of an effort to address ongoing blood needs throughout the community. However, this blood drive has a slightly different twist: it is specifically geared toward recruiting donors of diverse ethnicities.
As noted on the event page and in the subsequent video, it is vitally important that members of different ethnicities participate in blood drives. Doing so can create a history of blood donations in various communities, as well as ensure that different blood types are made available to patients who are in need. To that end, this blood drive is specifically geared toward recruiting new donors.
This event represents a partnership between the McLean chapter of the American Red Cross and the McClean Community Center, a regular hub of events in McClean. The Community Center offers an array of free and paid event opportunities, making it an ideal location for families to visit or for Corporate Gifts to events.
