The governing board of the McLean Community Center (MCC) will be using the Zoom video conferencing tool and invites the public to “virtual attend” and give their input.
The MCC Governing Board will be addressing the center’s budget for the 2022 fiscal year during two September meetings, and is asking residents of the Dranesville Small District 1-A for their suggestions.
A Zoom meeting of the Finance Committee will take place at 7:30pm on September 8, and a public hearing addressing the proposed budget begins at the same time on September 23. The preliminary consolidated budget will be available online and may also be obtained a week before the public hearing at the center’s reception desk.
Print shops can facilitate getting tax payers on board with a government proposal, by helping design the layout of printed explanatory materials in a clear, concise manner.
The McLean Community Center is financed by residents of tax-district 1A-Dranesville via a 2.3 cent annual levy per $100 of assessed property value. Those residents wishing to participate may call (703) 744-9348 to be added to the speakers list, which the Zoom meeting host will coordinate. Before and after the meetings, residents may submit written comments through October 26.
The FY 2022 budget will be approved by the MCC Governing Board at its October 28 meeting. The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will give the final approval of the budget in Spring 2021.
