Local HS production A Year with Frog and Toad

Students at George C. Marshall High School will present “A Year with Frog and Toad” a Tony Award-nominated musical based on the children’s book of the same title by Arnold Lobel at the schools Statesman Theater.

The musical follows cheerful Frog and his best friend grumpy Toad through four seasons together with their friends Turtle, Snail and Birds and other woodland animals. The story is one of enduring friendships and includes incidences with a runaway sled, kite flying and a spring picnic.

Filled with lively song and dance numbers, the show goes a step further with added theatrics including special effects and puppets. The cast suggests that attendees come with a little extra cash to purchase cookies during intermission, which is preceded by what is described as a hilarious bit titled “Cookies” that finds Frog, Toad and company going nuts as they eat cookies.

Flyer printing is an effective means of promoting performances.
