Health fund benefit to take place in Arlington

A benefit for the Sharon McGowan Breast Health Fund, which helps to serve uninsured men and women fight breast cancer in the memory of Sharon McGowan, will be taking place in Arlington, Virginia in early April.

The fund goes towards helping those in Arlington and Falls Church, a town near McLean, receive medical help via free procedures such as mammograms, medications, and biopsies to help them battle their disease. The fund has already successfully given out 135 biopsies, 1,500 mammograms, and 225 sonograms.

The benefit will include food, live music, and a silent auction. It will be taking place from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Mercedes-Benz of Arlington at 585 N Glebe Road and the price of admission is $85 per person. The cost of the ticket will go towards helping to support the Sharon McGowan Breast Health Fund Foundation.

The fund is in memory of Sharon McGowan, an Arlington woman who fought the disease while raising a large family.

For those who would like to attend the event, guests must RSVP by contacting Michelle Saroff at her email address, arlcoms@starpower.net, or by visiting her at the Arlington County Medical Society at 4615 Lee Highway in Arlington.
