‘Rock the Purple’ will take place in Falls Church this July, with funds raised going to support the Venetta Kent Foundation and the Fibromyalgia Awareness Foundation.
The show, which is presented by Empower me Pretty, will feature performances by such entertainers as Gud Fellas and Clyde Jones. It will also feature a fashion show, demonstrations, raffles, and door prizes. Fashion consultants will be on hand to give advice to both men and women.
The mission of Empower me Pretty is to increase the self-esteem of girls between the ages of 10 and 18 and to let them recognize their own inner beauty. They do this through workshops, education, and mentoring.
Fibromyalgia is a disorder that affects approximately 5.8 million Americans. It causes widespread musculoskeletal pain and can also lead to fatigue or memory issues in those afflicted. The majority of those suffering from the disorder are women.
This event will likely attract guests from all over the area, including nearby McLean. Organizers are most likely working with local printing companies to design and Print products such as Flyers to advertise throughout the community.
Rock the Purple will take place at the James Lee Community Center Theatre in Falls Church on July 27 beginning at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults in advance or $15 at the door and $5 for children, and all advanced guest will receive a free ‘swag’ bag.
