Farm shop opens for festive season

The Claude Moore Colonial Farm’s GateHouse Shop is now open for the 2016 holiday season.

With a variety of holiday products to choose from, such as hand soaps, advent Calendars, tree ornaments, pins, jewelry, coasters, trays, butter, and jellies, the shop is also featuring “local corner” display, which offers products such as soaps from a lavender farm in Maryland, Books, handcrafted pewter figurines made by a former farmer, and candles made by an artisan from Falls Church.

For busy visitors, the shop offers gift baskets as well and, for those who do not live in the area or cannot make it to the shop in person, products can be purchased online.

The Claude Moore Colonial Farm’s GateHouse Shop will welcome visitors every Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 am through 5:00 pm, and will remain open until December 24, when the store will revert back from the holiday gift shop to the regular gift shop.

From December 28 to 31, all products at the shop will be available with 40% off their normal prices. All of the proceeds from this go towards educational programs run by the farm. The GateHouse Shop is located 6310 Georgetown Pike in McLean, Virginia at the entrance of the living history museum.
