McLean runners will want to prepare their running shoes and begin stretching, as an invigorating 5K run is in the works for the area.
The McLean 5K is set to start in a few weeks, and area runners are welcome to begin registering to put their best foot forward and see what times they can establish. The certified course for the 5K is designed to welcome runners of all endurance and experience levels to enjoy time in the outdoors.
The 5K run also aims to benefit the McLean Community Foundation by promoting future endeavors and events. The local charity supports all things related to McLean, including the fire department, social services, and playgrounds. Sponsors for the 5K include Century 21, the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce, and the McLean Community Center. Banner printing is essential to greet runners at the finish line for running races like this.
Runners are invited to recruit a team from friends, family, and coworkers. The registration packet will be available the day before the race. Children are also welcome to participate, and interested parties can register online or in person. Awards will be given to the top finishers in each category.
The 5K will begin at the Old Firehouse, with the race starting at 8:00 AM on Friday, October 5th. Registration is available online at $45 per participant.
