Bee Festival to come to Manassas

The 5th annual Bee Festival will be coming to Manassas's Liberia House toward the end of June.

Visitors will learn about native pollinators, honeybees and native plants while enjoying family-fun activities.

Guests are encouraged to come dressed as pollinators to join in the costume parade. Everyone may learn the waggle dance and try their spelling prowess at the spelling bee. Local honey will be available for purchase and a community apiary will display native bee houses and honeybee hives. Experts in pollinators, bees and healthy living will be on hand to answer any questions.

Children may enjoy the farm animals and the bounce house, crafts and games. Food trucks will be on site as well as a Brew, Mead, and Spirits Garden. Yoga and wellness demonstrations will be on the lawn, and entertainment will include soothing sounds and live music.

Those that park at the end of Portner Avenue in the Public Works parking lot or in the Downtown parking garage can take advantage of free tractor rides or opt to walk following the 2K Honey Hike Signs to the festival.

Sponsorships are available at the $100/$250, $500, $1000, $2500 and $5000 levels. Those sponsoring at the $2500 and $5000 levels need to get their names and logos to the organizers before any event banner printing begins.

The 5th annual Manassas Bee Festival will take place Saturday, June 21st from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Liberia House and Grounds, 8601 Portner Avenue.
