Manassas City Library will be celebrating its 5th anniversary in early February, and everyone is invited to celebrate with them.
Festivities have been planned to thank the community for is support over the last few years.
Hosted by the Friends of Manassas City Library, the event will host a Mini-Book sale from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm with proceeds going to the library's programming.
At 11:00 am, author Colleen Snyder will be discussing her book In Search of Giants: The Quest to Find the Genetic Giants of Northern Ireland. Guests are invited to ask master gardeners about their garden and lawn issues from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, and the Greater Manassas Children's Choir will be giving at performance from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm. A LEGO building contest will run from 130 pm to 3:00 pm and winners will receive prizes. Texas Roadhouse's Andy Aardvark will have a story time beginning at 1:30 pm.
Sweet treats and crafts will be available, and Manny the Penguin will be available for pictures.
Admission will be free and all ages welcome.
Celebrate Five Years of Manassas City Library: Community, Creativity and Mini-Book Sale will take place Saturday, February 7th, at 10104 Dumfries Road.
Parents that take pictures of their little ones with mascots like Manny the Penguin often take the pictures to local Print shops to be added to family newsletters and yearly Calendars.
