The 25th annual Reston Holiday Parade is set to take place this Thanksgiving weekend.
The parade will kick off at 11:00 am at Reston Town Center. It is set to feature large character balloons, marching bands, antique cars, and community groups, all centered on this year's theme of ‘Home Sweet Home’. Everyone will receive free jingle bells while supplies last.
The parade also signifies the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. Afterwards, Santa will be in charge of the tree lighting at Fountain Square. There will also be a sing-along, photos with the Clauses, a performance by Frosty Follies, mini-train rides, and ice skating.
Also taking place on Market Street is the Gingerbread Man Mile races for children aged 14 and under. Registration fees are $8 and each runner will receive a T-shirt, a race bib, a ribbon, and cookies and snacks at the end of the race.
The annual parade attracts many participants, some who may invest in banner printing services from Reston Print companies. These Banners can be carried by marchers or hung on vehicles.
The Gingerbread Man Mile race will begin at 8:00 am on November 27. The parade will take place at 11:00 am, beginning at Reston Town Center. Festivities will continue at the Center until 10:00 PM.
