Taylor Stone, a native of Herndon, Texas, recently had a great week with the University of Louisville Cardinals, leading to her being named the ACC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week on October 16.
With that game, the Cardinals took their win-streak from six games to seven, and were tied for first place in the standings of the ACC.
Stone was a tremendous help with defensive efforts, and she also scored the goal that won the game. Stone is a midfielder and defender at junior level on the team. This was her sixth goal of the season, which puts her at a career high. The game had been tied at 2-2 during the second half.
Sports teams at both the high school and college levels are often sponsored by local businesses. Companies can use games as an opportunity to distribute Promotional Products and other activities.
The Louisville defense only allowed the Tar Heels to make six shots on the goal. The team also withstood several penalty corners before ensuring their win.
Stone played on the Herndon Field Hockey team during high school, and her sister Sammy has now taken on her role. The Hornets said the year Taylor left for Louisville, they missed her, but were excited to see her move forward.
