Residents of Herndon will soon have an opportunity for a fun-filled Saturday at no cost to families.
The city’s Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring Play All Day VA, an initiative to develop community spirit and engagement, to occur in mid-June. Residents may bring family and friends to enjoy various fun events on the longest day of the year. On this day, city officials are joining the efforts of several other Virginia cities to give families an opportunity for outdoor play.
First, the Herndon Community Center will be open so residents can enjoy its offerings at no admission cost. Several activities are available for exploration, including the gymnasium, the indoor pool, the fitness room, and more.
Parents and loved ones can also stop off at a local park for a cold treat and meet some of the Parks and Recreation staff members as well. If a morning snack sounds good, just grab a popsicle at Haley Smith Park from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. They will be at Bready Park Playground also from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
Play All Day VA will be held statewide on June 20. Patrons wishing for more information can call or stop by the Herndon Parks and Recreation Department. Its location is 814 Ferndale Avenue. Organizers of events such as this one can use Print shops for banner printing or other services to create publicity for their events.
