The Greater Reston Arts Center has received some news that will help to support an upcoming exhibit.
The gallery is one of 17 Fairfax County arts organizations operating on a not-for-profit basis that earned a 2016 Project Support grant from the county’s Arts Council. It will be used to help fund a showing of works by artist Shih Chieh Huang.
The exhibit, which has been titled ‘Transformations’, will be open to the public from April 22 until July 9 of 2016.
Huang, who resides in New York City creates works that combine traditional and interactive elements, such as motion sensors, LED lights, screens, and computer parts. He receives his inspiration, in part, by the deep-sea creatures that emit light to help them live in their environment.
The executive director of the Greater Reston Arts Center noted that she is very grateful for the funding, and that she is thrilled to be able to bring Huang’s artistic works to the people in the local area and the rest of Fairfax County. A poster printing firm will be able to produce high quality prints and other promotional items that can be used to help advertise the exhibit.
Those who are interested in finding our more about the show, or the pieces of art that will be on display, can visit the Art Center’s website.
