Kids in Herndon will have a chance to laugh, move, and have fun when an award-winning children’s singer-songwriter comes to town.
Herndon's Arts in the Parks summer series of concerts continues in early August with Mr. Jon & Friends. This Parents' Choice Award-winning duo consists of Jon Lewis, who often performs as a solo artist and is occasionally accompanied by Carrie, his wife. Kids and parents alike will have a chance to dance, shake, jump, and wiggle to the energetic tunes of this award-winning band.
For a decade now, Mr. Jon & Friends has been recording albums, playing in coffee houses, and sharing the stage with other artists. The band's first album became a top seller on the CDBaby website and won a Parents' Choice Award in 2013. The band has now recorded its third album, Rock & Rhyme, which has also become a favorite. Nowadays, Mr. Jon & Friends performs more than 250 shows each year, sharing the stage with such bands as the Pop Ups and the Imagination Movers. Concerts like this are often publicized with banner printing.
This concert will occur on Wednesday, August 6, at 10:00 AM and will last about 45 minutes. The venue is the Frying Pan Park Visitor Center Pavilion at 2709 West Ox Road in Herndon.
