Festival celebrates diversity in Reston

The 15th annual Reston Multicultural Festival is taking place next month, presented by the Reston Community Center.

The festival will celebrate the variety of cultures that make the area home. Guests can enjoy musical and dance performances, traditional costumes, ethnic foods from many different countries, and cultural exhibits. The ‘We Make Reston’ community exhibit will be on display too.

Other events set to take place include a naturalization ceremony for new citizens, an international book fair, and a variety of family activities.

Arts and crafts vendors will be on hand to sell items like handmade jewelry, clothing, pottery, and works of art. Meanwhile, local businesses will be selling some of their merchandise.

Community organizations will also be there to provide information about their programs and services to residents. It should be a good opportunity for festival visitors to get to know local artisans and business establishments, and for the vendors to attract more local customers.

It is likely that many of the vendors will want to attract as many people as possible to their booths. Some may invest in banner printing services from a favorite Reston printing company.

The festival, regardless of the weather, will be held at the Lake Anne Plaza on September 26 from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM. To learn more about this event, contact Kevin Danaher at 703-390-6166.
