The Herndon Environmental Network is hosting a fundraiser to solicit donations for itsrecent project – a Community Garden at Bruin Park.
The Herndon Environmental Network was formed back in 2011 by a small group of locals who had concerns about the environment. Their goal is to raise awareness of environmental issues through activities, projects, and education. The group likely solicits support through Brochures and Flyers to share its mission to support the community and communicate the issues facing the country and local community.
Those attending the fundraiser will be treated to whole plant appetizers by GreenFare, a local health food restaurant which serves organic foods. During the event, attendees will learn more about the Community Garden and its intended benefits for the community. The plans for the garden are to provide education on gardening and become an area for community members to gather.
The total cost for this effort is expected to be approximately $40K. Herndon Environmental Network hopes to raise $10K of the total cost during this fundraiser. GreenFare will match donations for this fundraiser up to $1K.
Attendance at the event is free, but registration is requested. Those wishing to attend can find the event on Eventbrite, and it will be held on Tuesday, June 19 from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm at GreenFare, 408 Elden St. in Herndon.
