The Northwest Federal Credit Union (NWFCU) in Herndon is hosting a Neon Night 5K Glow Run to raise money for the NWFCU Foundation’s 2017 Night of Magic, a fundraiser to help raise money for critically ill children obtaining care in the Washington DC area.
Those participating in the event can run the 5K distance or participate in a shorter 1.4-mile Fun Run. Participants will receive a glow in the dark T-shirt featuring the credit union’s Logo Design, and a glowing necklace.
The run will take place along the Runnymede Park trail and the W&OD trail. The race is not timed, so participants can take the time to enjoy the trails along their run. Runners will cross the finish line with the fanfare of smoke and lasers.
Runners are also encouraged to dress to the max, as prizes will be given to runners with the brightest, flashiest and most reflective running costumes. Recognition and awards for costumes will take place at the pre-run dance party.
Those who stick around after the event can mingle with friends and neighbors and enjoy the post-race dance party, music, and entertainment.
The event will take place at the Northwest Federal Credit Union on 200 Spring Street in Herndon on Saturday, September 24, at 5:00 pm. Volunteers are always needed, so if interested, please contact Rev3 Adventure, who is producing this event.
