The World Police and Fire Games is taking place this year in Fairfax County for 10 days. This biennial event takes place in different locations each year in countries around the world.
It is expected to attract over 12,000 athletes from over 70 countries. There is competition in over 60 sports and 1,600 medals will be awarded; the sports include hockey, swimming, soccer, triathlon, tug of war, golf and paintball. Events will take place in 53 venues in the county and the public can attend all of them free of charge.
The focus of the Games will be Reston Town Center. This will be where the athletes come to relax and to meet their fellow competitors. Champion's Square and Liberty Lawn are open to the public and will include food concessions, beer gardens, a rock wall, live entertainment and an obstacle course. The Pavilion will only be accessible by athletes and their trainers; it includes a tech lounge, a disco and contests such as hot dog eating.
It is likely that organizers of the event will have contacted local banner printing companies. These Banners can be hung at various venues, like Reston Town Center, to let people know where to go.
The World Police and Fire Games will be held from June 26 to July 5. For more information, visit the official website.Get a Free Quote for Banners
