Herndon country music fans will soon have an excuse to kick up their heels.
The Rowdy Ace Band, a country music tribute group, is scheduled to perform at Ned Devine’s Irish Gastro Pub and Restaurant in early May. Billed as “Northern Virginia’s Country Music Band,” the group plays country hits from 1990s superstars, and also goes all the way back to the 1960s to find hits.
Rowdy Ace has opened for big-name acts and performs in venues across northern Virginia and the D.C. area. The band’s frontman, "Rowdy” Tolbert, has said:
“We choose country because no matter if the songs were written in 1963 or 2023, there is fun, and real life, and stories you can identify with.”
He cites the influence of school and church choirs as a youth and even sang while playing drums in church.
This band is cited as among the best in the area. That’s no surprise; Rowdy Ace earned the title of Loudoun Times-Mirror Best Local Band in 2022 and, in 2023, was named as a Finalist in the same contest.
The band plays a variety of venues, including restaurants, dance halls, bars, private parties, and festivals.
