As Reston Station continues to take shape, its developer, Comstock, has announced the signing of a lease with Founding Farmers to become a retail anchor for the civic plaza.
Reston Station’s 1.3 million square feet of mixed-use development will include office space, retail stores, restaurants, hotel rooms, and luxury residences. It is located in the Dulles Corridor of Fairfax County. A major part of the facility is the Wiehle – Reston East Metro station.
The newest tenant of Reston Station, Founding Farmers, will use the space for a restaurant in the heart of the facility’s urban core. According to a company spokesperson, the new restaurant will have its own personality and charm. Its interior and menu items will be unique to this new location and it promises to offer the people of Reston something different. The restaurant is planned to open in late 2016.
Not only will Reston Station offer permanent retail space, but a section is also being marked in the urban core for URBAN POP, which, according to Comstock, will be a mix of different pop-up stores, ranging from food to fashion and lifestyle. The pop-ups will likely require local printing companies to support their temporary promotions with poster printing among other marketing materials.
The outside portion of the urban core will feature a piazza, which will serve as the facility’s entertainment area for music, festivals, and celebrations of all kinds.
