Floral pav coming to Chantilly

A term often used in jewelry making, pavé techniques can also be applied to floral arrangements. This will be the feature of the upcoming Pavé Design class hosted by Metro Flower Market in Chantilly.

Design Days at Metro Flower Market: Arranging in Glass will be taught by Teresa Godfrey. The focus will be to place the flowers close together in the vase to create an attractive design. Godfrey is an award-winning floral designer and has been creating since 2001. She has worked with event planners in putting together floral arrangements for large gatherings including some at the White House.

The class is 90 minutes; registration is $85. Included in the registration will be technique demonstrations, hands-on activities, critique and tips, and other pertinent information. The content will cover care and handling of fresh flowers, explanation of elements and design principles, material costs and sources, and questions and answers.

Poster printing for classes is often ordered from local Print shops. The Posters can contain step-by-step visual imaging of the class content. They can be placed on easel throughout the classroom for all to see and follow along.

Participants are encouraged to bring floral tools, a knife or clippers, gloves, and aprons. Toolkits are available on a limited basis for purchase.

The Design Days class will be held on August 22 at the Metro Flower Market, starting at 2:00 pm. The venue is located at 4151 Lafayette Center Drive, Suite 110.
