SCERA to host an evening of Stars benefiting the arts gala
The SCERA for the Performing Arts Center will be hosting its 10th annual presentation of the Star Awards later this month. Locals who would like to mingle with the winners are invited to attend.
The gala will be formal, with black ties de rigueur. It will feature, in addition to the presentation of awards, a silent auction and dinner. Guests may wish to exchange digital business cards. The Star Awards have been instituted to honor groups or individuals who have made a significant contribution to the arts in Utah County this past year.
Local personality Daniel Beck will serve as emcee for the evening. The highlight of the event will be the reading of names of people who have won awards this year. The list includes Neon Trees, which claims the 2015 Star Award. Recognition will also be given to those who have made a difference in dance, visual arts, music, arts advocacy, and voluntary contributions.
The benefit will be held Saturday, February 28, starting at 5:30 pm at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State Street, Orem.
