Orem City considers redesigning its flag
Orem City residents have been pondering the possibility of adopting a new flag to refresh the city's image.
According to HeraldDextra, the Orem City Council and Mayor Dave Young were recently presented with several design options for a new city flag by Brooks Advertising's Peter and Jacob Brooks. The council was tasked with selecting the final design for the revamped flag.
Jacob recommended a simple design for the flag, noting that this reflects a current trend. Peter emphasized the importance of creating a memorable and legible flag, while keeping the design simple, citing the Japanese and Canadian flags as examples. Graphic design services can be used to help will the design of new flags.
The proposed flag design would serve as a central emblem and would appear on various city-owned assets such as vehicles, stationery, police cars, and communication devices.
According to the communications manager, the adoption of a new city flag has been part of Orem's efforts to revamp the city. In order to achieve this goal, the city has also included a slogan, "Family City USA," on its official applications. The mayor and Orem City Council have been presented with several design options by Brooks Advertising, and are currently considering them. The final design will be decided in a future meeting after the council has reviewed all the designs again.
