A favorite bath time toy of many people will be used in a race for amazing prizes in early September. This event will benefit charity, as well as the top three place winners. This race is known as the Southwest Kia Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta.
People who wish to participate in the race can purchase rubber ducks through the regatta website. By buying more ducks, the chances of placing high can increase. A single duck will cost $5, 5 will be $20 with one duck for free, and 12 will cost buyers $50, with 2 more free ducks added. All proceeds from this regatta will go to the Rockwall branch of the Boys & Girls Club.
Those who purchase spots in the race do not have to be there on the day, however, the contact information they give the organizer must be correct and up to date. The top prize is a trip to Walt Disney World with five days in a condo, three day park passes, and an airline voucher put towards the cost. Second place gets two tickets to see the Dallas Cowboys play the New York Giants on October 10th. Third will receive four season passes to Six Flags.
Vendors will be present for food and drinks, as well as shopping. Live music and a splash zone for the kids will be in the area too. Duck themed merchandise will be at the Quack Shack, printed with a unique and fun graphic design. Parking will cost people $5. The date is set to be September 4th at 4:00pm. The location is Harry Myers Park.
