The Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta is taking place over two days next month. It is presented by Southwest Kia and is a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas: Rockwall Branch.
The public can purchase rubber ducks for $5 each. They are assigned a number and the ducks are places in Rockwall Harbor. The top three finishers will receive prizes. There will be two races: the regular duck regatta and the glo-duck regatta.
Another event taking place during the regatta will be the Shake your Tail Feathers 5K and Fun Run. The fees to participate are $35 for the 5K until September 9 and $15 for the 1K fun run. Awards will be given to the winners in several age categories. The age of participation is 6 and over.
Plenty of other activities will be taking place over the two days including sailboat tours, a remote-control sailboat regatta and Patrol Tours with the Game Warden.
