Rockwall is treating the local community to an exciting, colorful, and bright event to celebrate the formation of the USA in early July.
The 4th of July marks the day when the states officially became independent, forming the country of the United States of America. While it only became an official holiday federally in 1941, it has been celebrated since the beginning, all the way back in 1776.
The local celebration is mainly based in Harry Myers Park, however, there are other spots listed as locations to watch the city’s fireworks. These are the RISD Admin Building and the Tuttle Athletic Complex at Dobbs Elementary. Any one of these three spaces will provide guests with great views of the spectacular show.
In addition to the showcase of fireworks, the event will also include a parade, music, and some parachute jumps. A variety of dishes will be available for purchase from food trucks at the park. Flyer printing is a frequently used technique of promotion/advertisement for city hosted events.
The parade is taking place in the morning, starting at 11:00am. The route is running between Wilkerson Sanders Stadium and Dobbs Elementary. The other festivities are scheduled for the evening, with the venue opening at 7:00pm, and the fireworks starting right at 9:15pm. Both portions are free to attend, with everything taking place on 4th July.
