Next month, Rockwall will be hosting a dive into a technique rising in popularity.
The style of painting, called pour painting, has become more popular over the course of the pandemic, and this class will teach attendees how to do it correctly, while also allowing them, or their kids, to make a mess outside of the home. Anyone from age six and up can attend.
Instructors will give everyone the option to choose the wood shape or canvas they will use, along with the ability to request a specific wood shape upon registration. If no shapes appeal to someone attending, they are allowed to upgrade to the canvas on the day of the lesson. Some of the cutout options could include a flower, the state of Texas, or a jar. Painters will also get to choose four different paint colors, including one metallic shade.
Those 21 and older are allowed to bring their own alcohol. The studio will have bottle openers, as well as cups.
Painters will need to wait 48 hours to pick up their artwork, but must do so within a week, otherwise the works will be donated. The storefront will likely be marked with the company Logo Design in order to make the location easier to spot for anyone who has not been before.
The price varies based on the material. Cut-outs are $38, a 12x12 inch canvas is $46, and a 16x20 canvas is $44. The class is with Painting With A Twist, and takes place on August 15 from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
