Rockwall studio to highlight summertime favorite

A Rockwall artistic venue will be celebrating summer with a fun lesson in early June.

Twist Kids Camp! Watermel-ephant is a class in which artists starting from age six are taught how to paint a cute elephant where the ears are colored with various shades of green (resembling the rinds of a watermelon) and the head and body are pink with black seeds (like the insides). The picture will be placed on a canvas measuring 16”x20” in size.

Despite being billed as a “Kids Camp,” the event is also open to painters who are grown up. Adults bringing kids to the lesson have a chance to either paint with them, stay and just watch, or go elsewhere and come back at the end of the lesson. Tickets need to be purchased for those who choose to remain at the venue, whether participating or not. Anyone leaving a child alone for the activity must give staff members a working number for contact.

The painters aged 21 or older can choose to bring alcohol with them. Those who do must remember that children will be present, so a safe environment is important. Entry to the activity is $35 for each seat. Purchases can be completed using Unation.com. Flyers are often made with the Logo Design of the organizing company printed on them as advertisement for lessons in the artistic realm. The venue for the June 7 class is the local Painting with a Twist space. Instruction will be running from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
