Rockwall studio to highlight mythical creature

An art space in Rockwall will be running a class centered on a magical being in early May.

Sleeping Dragon! is a lesson under the Family Day! umbrella from Painting with a Twist (PwaT), which means over-21s are allowed to bring alcohol as long as the atmosphere remains child friendly.

An instructor will go over several painting techniques as attendees craft an image of the head and neck of a dragon getting some shut-eye. While activities like this are generally for those six or older, parents can choose to allow their five-year-old to attend as well, as long as they believe it will be suitable for them.

Adults have the choice of participating with their kids, sitting back and watching them, or leaving them at the venue for the class. The preference for those staying can be indicated during the purchase process. Those choosing to drop off children will need to leave contact information with the staff before they do so.

Admission, available using the PwaT website, costs $35. This is the same for non-painters, as well as those who choose both the 16”x20” canvas or the 12”x12” canvas. The event is being held at the city’s Painting with a Twist studio space. Flyer printing is a method of advertisement used for many artistic activities.

The lesson will be 90 minutes long, running from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Friday, May 5.
