This summer, Rockwall Summer Musicals is once again hosting a show for the town. The season starts with a play called ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’.
The play is about a woman named Millie Dillmount, who moved to New York in 1922 to make a new life for herself. Millie hopes to find a wealthy man to fall in love with and marry, but things do not go entirely according to plan. As this is a historical fiction piece, the costumes will be from the 1920s, and there will likely be jazzy music, as that period of time was known as the Jazz Age.
Rockwall Summer Musicals is a nonprofit group that aims to bring Broadway-level performances to Rockwall. All of its performances are held at RHS Performing Arts Center on Townsend Drive. There are multiple parking lots in the immediate vicinity.
Tickets are currently on sale for this show and are $25 per adult, $20 per student, and $22 per senior. Seats are reserved if purchased ahead of time, and are the same price.
Performances of this type often use brochure printing to mail out, hand out, or have at the event. Attendees often enjoy having a printed material such as a brochure to take home as a souvenir. The first performance of ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’ will be on Friday, June 21 at 7:30 pm, while the last will be Sunday, June 30, at 2:00 pm.
