The Rockwall Police Department will be holding a fundraising event for children facing abuse in mid-December.
The Santa Cops 4 Kids 5K, 1M Fun Run, Santa Chase & Toy Drive is an event that will allow the community to have some fun, get some exercise, and help a good cause, all at the same time. By registering for the run, guests will be giving money for the cause of helping abused children. The charity is the Child Advocacy Center for Rockwall County.
Different brackets and races have different registering costs. The 5K has three different levels. The virtual race costs $35, the adult bracket costs $30, and the youth division costs $20, while the one-mile run costs $15. The Santa Chase is free to enter. Awards and raffles will be available for different age groups as well.
When attendees register for a paid segment, they will be provided with a shirt featuring a race Logo Design. In order to be guaranteed they receive a shirt in the correct size, they must be registered by November 30. After this date, it cannot be promised that the shirt will be in the desired size.
Guests are asked to bring a toy of at least $5 in value, which must be both new and unwrapped. These will be given out to local children in need. In return, those who bring an item will get a coupon worth $5 valid when registering for the next event in 2022.
This year’s run will take place from 8:20 am to 11:00 am at Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium on December 18.
