Rockwall experience includes creative celebration

An event in Rockwall is putting a themed spin on a much-loved pastime in mid-March.

Luck of the Irish! is a hands-on painting class. Painting with a Twist (PwaT) has several categories of activities, and this one goes under the Twist Family! section. This means it is a class open to younger participants in addition to those who could attend a regular event. This makes it an opportunity for families to create some art together.

Painters will be led through the St. Patrick’s Day-themed piece by one of the PwaT artists, who will teach them skills such as blending and outlining as the image comes together. Younger kids are not expected to exactly follow the steps and are welcome to experiment. While the recommended age is six or older, parents can choose to register their five-year-olds if they feel it will be suitable for them. Attendees over 21 are allowed to bring alcohol if they wish but are asked to keep the atmosphere family friendly.

PwaT has tickets up on its site for $39. The finished artwork, which everyone is able to bring home with them, is going to measure 16” x 20”. Hosts of artistic lessons like this often choose to promote them via flyer printing. The class is scheduled from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 17, which is St. Patrick’s Day itself.
