Shake Your Tail Feathers run returns to Rockwall this year, benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Texas. There will be a 5K option and a 1K option.
All participants of either race will receive one rubber duck, which can be used in the Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta.
The 5K race will begin at 9:00 AM, while the 1K fun run will start at 9:05 AM. Both races will begin and end at Eclipse Lakefront Fitness. The races are timed by chip, which will be in the bibs provided to all participants. Results will be posted online after the event.
Those who pre-register for the event will be given a T-shirt. Pre-registration is $40 for the 5k, or $20 for the 1K. Children under three are not allowed to race.
This type of event often uses banner printing to help advertise or to mark the end of the race. Races like this often also have repeat attendees. There is a parking lot attached to the Eclipse Lakefront Fitness building, although participants may have to park elsewhere on the day of the race. There are multiple other lots within easy walking distance.
This event is closely associated with the Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta, and encourages attendees to also attend the rubber duck race, also in Rockwall and held later that day. Both races will be held on the morning of Saturday, September 21.
