Rockwall delivers artistic activity for couples

An event in late September at a Rockwall art studio is set to give couples a fun, colorful, and creative way to celebrate their relationships.

Date Night is a series of classes hosted in the local Painting with a Twist studio. These experiences are aimed more towards adult partners, but individuals are welcome, along with painters as young as 16, as long as they and their parents are comfortable with a mature atmosphere. It is also suggested to have a parent paint with these younger artists.

Lovers Lament is a painting which combines Halloween, an array of colors, and recognizable figures from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” The style of the piece is also inspired by “The Starry Night” by Vincent van Gogh. In a fun twist, the paint also glows under a blacklight. To get the full image, two canvases or wooden plank boards will be needed. An individual piece is 16”x20” in size.

Tickets are sold via the studio’s website. The board will cost $49 each, with the canvas being $39. Guests can also throw in a flashlight that works as a blacklight for $6, and a D.I.Y. candle experience for $20. The latter requires arrival at a minimum of 30 minutes before the lesson begins at 7:00pm. Guests can choose to BYOB if they are at least 21, and snacks are allowed too. Flyer printing is a frequently used method of advertising “date nights” and art classes. The event ends at 9:00pm on September 28th.
