Rockwall celebrates holidays early next month

The Rockwall Tree Lighting and Hometown Christmas Celebration is taking place very shortly.

Presented by Rockwall Parks and Recreation, the day will start off with the Kiwanis Christmas Parade at 9:00 AM. The theme of this year’s parade is “Celebration the Spirit of Rockwall” and it will feature floats, marching bands, and, of course, Santa Claus.

Later, there will be lots of family-friendly activities, which include train rides, bounce houses, and face painting. There will also be a Find Frosty scavenger hunt where participants visit several downtown shops, entertainment from the Dallas Puppet Theater and a snow tubing hill. In addition, there will be a pet parade, strolling elves giving away prizes, and a hot cocoa and s’mores bar. A hot dog cart will be on hand to provide food and Santa will be posing for photographs at the Courthouse.

Visitors are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Helping Hand toy drive.

The tree lighting will take place at 6:00 pm at City Hall. It will be followed by crafts in Santa’s workshop, free cookies, hot chocolate and coffee, and Christmas music.

Participants in the Rockwall parade may invest in Banners to draw attention to their group.

The tree lighting and Christmas celebration will be held on December 2 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Call 972-771-7761 for more information.
