A Rockwall studio will be hosting a themed event for artists young and old in mid-December.
Christmas Child is a family-friendly art class run by the city’s Painting with a Twist location. In this particular lesson, participants will learn several painting techniques while putting together their unique picture of Grogu, aka The Child, from the Disney Plus series “The Mandalorian.” To go with the holiday theme, the little green creature will be dressed in a Santa hat and robe. A skilled teacher will lead attendees through the steps to put the pieces together.
The class is open to children as young as six, although some slightly younger artists may be permitted if their parents or guardians feel that they are able. Parents planning to attend with young painters will need to also purchase a spot, but are able to choose not to participate. If a phone number is given to venue staff upon arrival, adults are also allowed to drop off kids for the event. Those who are aged 21 or older are permitted to bring alcoholic drinks, but are asked to help the staff keep the environment safe.
Both canvas size options (12”x12” and 16”x20”) plus the lesson cost $35. Tickets can be bought through the Painting with a Twist site. Flyer printing will often be used in promotion of activities like this one.
The class will run for 90 minutes, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm, on Sunday, December 18.
