A local studio will be hosting a fun lesson for Rockwall residents in early March.
Family Day! Pot o’ Color is a class held by Painting with a Twist, a company focused on exciting and creative experiences. Each activity is helmed by a skilled painter/instructor. For this particular event, participants will be creating an image of green rolling hills, a light blue sky, and a big pot with a rainbow, as well as some coins.
Family Day activities are for those who are aged at least six, although five year olds may be allowed to participate if the adults responsible for them feel they can handle the atmosphere. Younger painters are not expected to always follow the instructions perfectly, as experimentation and mixing paints are sometimes a part of art. Parents who wish to just watch their child are asked to notify the studio when purchasing tickets for the event. Children can also be dropped off, although in these cases staff must be given a phone number for the responsible adult.
There are two options for the sizing of the finished pieces. These are 12”x12” and 16”x20”. Both come at a cost of $35, and reservations can be bought through the PwaT company website.
Adult participants who are of the legal drinking age are able to bring some alcohol with them to drink, as long as they are responsible and help the venue staff keep the environment safe for other painters.
The location for this lesson is the city’s Painting with a Twist studio. Flyer printing is used often in order to promote artistic events. The class will run from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm on March 3.
