The 6th annual Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta is taking place next month. The event is a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas and Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County.
Thousands of ducks will be launched over the fountain at The Harbor, and the first three to cross the finish line will win prizes. There will be two separate races – the Baby Duck Race and the Mini Glow Duck Race. The first prize winner of the former will receive a Disney vacation for four, and the top finisher of the latter will get a Texas Hill Country holiday for two.
Ducks are $5 each, or $250 for a corporate entry into the duck beauty pageant where entrants dress up their duck. Prizes will be awarded for the top three chosen, as well as People’s Choice and Ugly Duckling.
In addition to the duck races, there will be vendors on hand to sell items such as arts and crafts, a kids’ zone with games and activities, and musical entertainment from Cory Morrow and several local performers.
Vibrantly colored Flyers and Posters may be distributed all over Rockwall to advertise this fun fundraiser, which will be held at The Harbor on September 16 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The event website has more information about the day.
