A Rockwall studio will be providing a lesson for both pairs and individual artists in early January.
Family Day! Mommy & Me Owls (or Single) is an event where kids can come with someone they love, or anyone can come alone for a chance to let loose and make some art. An instructor who works at the venue will lead everyone through the process of creating two paintings that connect to each other, or one standalone piece. These pictures will show either one colorful owl, or a larger owl and a smaller one.
Hosted by Painting With a Twist, these kid-friendly lessons are open to those as young as six. Some five-year-olds may also be permitted if an adult feels they will be able to handle the environment.
Children may be left at the studio for the duration of the event, provided a contact number is left. Alternatively, parents and guardians can choose to sit and watch their kids paint as well. A note which option they prefer will need to be submitted when purchasing tickets, and a ticket must also be bought for the adult. The cost is $35, and can be reserved through the Painting with a Twist website.
Artists who are at least 21 years of age are able to bring alcohol and ice, while cups will be made available by the venue.
The pieces will be completed on a 16”x20” canvas. Flyer printing is often used as a way to promote events like this one to the local community. The activity will last from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on January 7.
