As a result of an October 2016 directive, the Rockwall City council is focusing on development of the I-30 corridor. Recently, it held an open house for residents to learn about the status of the development.
The open house was one way the city can keep residents informed of the progress of this initiative. As more developments occur, they might also consult with a local Print company to obtain information on Direct Mail printing and Variable Data printing as another source to reach out to the community with updates.
At the open house, city council staff was on hand at six stations that were set up to address specific questions. The stations were broken down into areas including an introduction and brief overview of the project, an opportunity for residents to voice opinions of what they do and don’t like about existing development, a chance for residents to have their say on whether to use transitional, preservation, or opportunity zones to help the council decide where to provide focus, and the chance to vote on issues.
Outside of the six stations, discussions were also held to cover what residents felt would be issues and priorities, such as traffic and parking. Topics such as lodging, beautification, utilities, parks, and trails were among those discussed on the day as well.
