Dodie’s Cajun Diner is hosting its annual fundraising festival in Rockwall again this year. The event, which typically sells out, raised over $5,000 last year. This year’s funds will benefit J.E.R. Chilton YCA’s Angel Camp.
The Angel Camp is a program that allows children with special needs to experience many activities that are typically unavailable to them. The camp attendees are able to enjoy swimming, horseback riding, sailing, and archery. The six-week camp sessions take place during the summer months, and fundraisers such as this help support the camp’s growing needs.
The event, which will no doubt be advertised with Flyers throughout the area this month, is full of entertainment for the entire family and includes music, food, and fun. Attendees can purchase tickets for the all-you-can-eat event, which will also serve up potatoes, corn, jambalaya, red beans, and rice to ensure nobody leaves hungry. Younger children who do not want to participate in the all you can eat event can purchase tickets for Dodie’s macaroni and cheese and corn dogs.
The event will be held on Sunday, April 23 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Music will be provided by The Big Daddy Band, which will be on stage through most of the event.
Tickets are available at $35 for attendees aged 13 and older, or $15 for children ages 6 to 12. Admission is free for children under 6. The event tends to sell out, so parties interested in attending should purchase their tickets as soon as possible, and can do so via the organizer’s website.
