PTSD is a mental health issue that can be faced by veterans, and the local chapter of the ESA Honor Society has organized a Pearland fundraiser to help support them in their road to recovery.
The proceeds of the group's 2018 walkathon will donated to the PTSD Foundation of America in support of Camp Hope. This is a recovery center for former servicemen and women coping with the effects of PTSD. It will be the third year that the Alpha Chapter has decided to donate all of the funds raised from the event to this particular cause.
Along with the walk, there will be games, food and raffles on offer, and there will be other activities as well. Last year, the effort was able to raise $3,000, and to help make 2018 an even bigger success, the event has been opened to all homeschooling groups in the Houston area. In addition to walking, there will also be an option for anyone who would prefer to raise money by biking. Banners, Signs and other materials for this type of occasion can be crafted by area Print shops at a price that won’t take too much of a bite from the event’s budget.
April 14th has been chosen as the date for this fundraiser, and it will be staged in Centennial Park in Pearland. More details about the day can be found on the organizer’s Facebook page.
