Many people save their favorite T-Shirts because of the memories they hold, and during a Pearland class, instruction will be provided into how to transform them into a blanket that can be proudly displayed in the home.
Over a series of four classes, students will be taught how they can make either a rag or duvet-style blanket, and even those who are new to the art of sewing will be able to participate. Sewing machine rentals are available, but those who have one are encouraged to bring along their own.
Each person who registers for the classes has been asked to prepare a basic sewing kit which includes paper scissors, pins, fabric scissors, coordinating thread, fabric, measuring Tape and a seam ripper. The participants will be informed about any materials that are specific to this particular project that they will need to bring to complete the blanket.
The organizers explained that the class size will only be 10 people, and there will be lots of hands on learning and time to socialize. The registration fee is $130.00. Flyer printing can be used to create Direct Mail marketing items that can aid in promoting an event like this to the local community.
The blanket sewing class will begin on June 30 at Rustique General Store, which is located at 1130 Broadway St.in Pearland. Its website is the place to go for more details and an opportunity to register.
