Pearland lecture to explore value of urban trees

Pearland residents who would like to learn more about the benefits of urban trees are welcome to attend an upcoming lecture, and it will help them to discover what they can do to help the area’s urban forest thrive.

The Keep Pearland Beautiful initiative has sponsored a lecture that will offer an introduction to the importance of urban forests, and the focus of the discussion will be increasing the inventory of the city’s current urban trees. The presentation is being offered through support from the City of Pearland, as well as the Brazoria Master Gardeners program, and everyone is welcome to attend this free activity.

During the lecture, the attendees will discovery why urban trees can be very important and also what they can do to keep them healthy and thriving. The value of having a diverse range of species will be included, and the attendees will be encouraged to ask questions.

The planners of the activity explain that there will be a half-hour mixer before it begins, and light refreshments will be served. A brochure printing service can prepare items to hand out as part of this type of function, and these can help those who attend an event to keep on learning even once they have gone home.

This opportunity for area residents to learn what they can do to protect and increase the number of urban trees in the city will be offered on September 10. It will be starting at 7:00 pm at Delores Fenwick Nature Center.
