Pearland festival to bear more fruit

At Pearland International Park taking place next weekend, the tastes and sound of the world will converge for one day.

Mexico will be spotlighted, but samples of numerous other cultures will be on hand, such Middle Eastern, European, Asian, Caribbean, African, and Latin American.

As the featured country, the USA’s neighbor to the south will garner the most attention. Not only will Mexican food and music be available, but art and other aspects of its culture will be as well. Of particular note will be the Grito contest and a jalapeño pepper eating competition.

The day-long festival will provide food and vendors selling items from around the world. Music will be provided by top of the line bands in a variety of genres, and there will be cultural dance performances throughout the day.

New to the festival this year will be a preview of the city’s ‘A Taste of Pearland’ in the VIP tent. Wines from around the world, as well as those vinted locally, will be available for tasting along with food samples from local restaurants. With an event as varied as this one, a poster printing service is the most likely form of advertising to do it justice.

This event takes place between 11:00 am and 9:00 pm on September 13. General admission is $10 for adults and $5 per child aged 12 or under. The VIP Tent has a separate admission of $40.
