Spirited event ahead in Irving

An evening is planned in Irving when those who appreciate fine spirits, or want to learn more about them, will have a chance to explore.

The Whiskey Spot is hosting a special tasting evening, during which attendees will be able to sample seven different brands of cognac. Cognac is aged in the same way as whiskey, which gives the spirit a complexity and variety that differs within the larger category “cognac.” In addition to the sampling, experts will explain the best cigar and cognac pairings, and food will be served.

Cognac, which is a type of brandy, takes its name from a region of France. To be authentic, it must be made using specific production methods and certain grapes; the Ugni blanc grape is the most commonly used. By law, the cognac must be distilled twice in copper, and aged for a minimum of two years in barrels made of French oak from either Tronçais or Limousin. Most are aged far longer.

The evening also promises an opportunity to network with others in the business community, both in Irving and the larger Dallas-Ft. Worth area. The host is limiting the number of tickets to only 50, so those who are interested should make reservations soon.

The cognac tasting event is scheduled for October 17, from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, at RBR Muzik, 3248 Skyway Circle North in Irving. Occasions like this are perfect places for attendees to exchange Business Cards.
