Irving event to highlight local authors

Texas Author Con will be holding its 4th annual event in Irving this July, aiming to showcase writers from the Lone Star State.

There will be dozens of Texan authors and vendors at the convention, representing genres ranging from fantasy and science-fiction to romance and historical fiction. Visitors can get their books signed by favorites as well as find their next great read. Featured authors include Glenna Rollins Riddle, Jennifer D. Torseth, and Lance K. Ewing. There will also be exhibits from independent bookstores and other vendors such as Grimm’s Toys. Visitors can receive free books and merchandise through giveaways held throughout the convention.

Exhibitors will also be taking place in a variety of events in side rooms, including live readings, question and answer sessions, and panels about different aspects of writing and the book industry. Book events like this are a popular way for authors to connect with new readers, especially for writers published through small publishers or using Print services for self-publishing. Texas Author Con also releases a series of author interview videos to help build anticipation for the convention. Last year’s edition featured a series of “What’s in the Box?” interviews with horror authors.

The 2025 Texas Author Con will take place at the Irving Convention Center on July 19 and 20. Attendance is free and the event is family-friendly.
