The North Texas Teen Book Festival will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in Irving this spring, highlighting books aimed at the young adult and middle grade audience.
The festival consists of one day aimed at educators and librarians, and another aimed at young readers themselves and the general public. Approximately 75 authors will be guests participating in panels, book signings, and more. This year’s guests include Libba Bray, John Patrick Green, Hope Larson, and legendary kids’ horror author R. L. Stine, known for the Goosebumps series. The authors will participate in over 42 thematically connected panels. There will also be separate sections of the festival for middle-grade readers and authors (called The Middle Ground), and young adult graphic novelists (Get Graphic), often featuring illustrators going head-to-head in drawing challenges.
Over two dozen of the authors will also be involved in Educator Day, which aims to highlight how teachers can engage readers from elementary through high school. The professional conference will be sponsored by the Sam Houston State University College of Education Library Science, and will feature special guest “That Librarian” Amanda Jones. Young adult literature has emerged as one of the most popular genres over the past two decades, with authors often self-publishing through printing services and online platforms.
The 2025 North Texas Teen Book Festival will be open to the public on Sunday, March 1 at the Irving Convention Center, with Educator Day taking place the day before on February 28.
